  • Parent Education and Support

Building parent capacity directly impacts positive outcomes in children and adolescents, and improves quality of life for the whole family. Parenting a child with special emotional, behavioral, developmental or academic needs can be challenging. Self-care and maintaining adult relationships often takes a backseat to the immediate needs of children. Rachel provides parents with emotional and practical support including maintaining self-care while navigating parenting challenges. Through parent education and coaching, she equips parents to meet their child’s needs and increase connectedness. Rachel helps parents implement strategies including co-regulation, establishing routines, modeling, visual supports, and developing advocacy skills in the school and community setting to promote understanding of your child’s needs across environments.

“We are psychologically, emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually hardwired for connection, love, and belonging. Connection is why we are here, and it is what gives purpose and meaning to our lives.” Brene´ Brown, Ph.D,
