Building parent capacity directly impacts positive outcomes in children and adolescents, and improves quality of life for the whole family. Parenting a child with special emotional, behavioral, developmental or academic needs can be challenging. Self-care and maintaining adult relationships often takes a backseat to the immediate needs of children. Rachel provides parents with emotional and practical support including maintaining self-care while navigating parenting challenges. Through parent education and coaching, she equips parents to meet their child’s needs and increase connectedness. Rachel helps parents implement strategies including co-regulation, establishing routines, modeling, visual supports, and developing advocacy skills in the school and community setting to promote understanding of your child’s needs across environments.
